Realized how awful it feels when I am always there someone but the other person is never there for me when I need them. Even when its something as simple as 10 minutes of their time. 

The Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you

I think I have been interpreting incorrectly. I always expect other people would return the favor, but its not always true.
